Thank you, Sister, for the gentle reminder. So many of us are unable to attend Mass and to receive both the host and the wine. I am fortunate that a lay minister comes every week with the host. I often thought about receiving the blood of our dear Lord, now I uderstand I am receiving both.

Sadly I will have to unsubscribe. For me, this theology is not in keeping with Vatican II and Jesus’ death. I believe his life and death had more to do with how to love and live lives in tune with social justice in community than death for my sins. I grew up with this piety which I embraced wholeheartedly in the 50’s but it no longer feeds me.

Adrienne-Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm sorry to see you leave us so soon. One of our hopes for Go in Peace is to offer a range of faithful Catholic voices, each bringing their own perspective and experience while remaining rooted in Scripture and the life of the Church. Not every reflection will resonate with every reader, and that's okay. My hope is that, over time, you'll encounter voices that nourish your faith and perhaps even discover something new in those that challenge you. Whatever you decide, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of your journey, and may God bless you with his peace.
